Obnoxious and crank calling is becoming a major complaint from mobile users these days. Keeping this in mind Mobilink brings yet another useful service for its customers. Now with Mobilink’s Call & SMS Block service customers can block unwanted calls and SMS. This frees the customer from hassle of switching off their mobile phones and gives freedom to select people whose calls and SMS they want to receive.


Subscription Mechanism:

  • To subscribe to Call & SMS Block service via SMS, simply send “act ics “ to 420
  • To subscribe to Call & SMS Block service via IVR, simply dial 420 and follow the instructions

Number addition in Black/White list:

Service users can maintain White and Black lists. If user has activated White list then calls and SMS will be received only from mobile numbers added in the white list. In case user has activated Black list then calls and SMS will be received from all mobile numbers except from those added in the Black list.

Total 20 numbers can be added in Black List and 20 in white list. A number added in both the lists will be counted twice.

  • To add a number in blacklist, SMS “ADD NB <03xxxxxxxxx>” to 420
  • To add a number in whitelist, SMS “ADD NW <03xxxxxxxxx>” to 420
  • To delete a number from black/white List, SMS “DEL <03xxxxxxxxx>”
  • To inquire about a number, SMS “ENQ <03xxxxxxxxx>” to 420

Block Last Caller:

  •   To block the last call, SMS “LAST BLOCK” to 420

Help Command:

  •   Simply send “Help” to 420 to get all SMS commands to use the service

Un-subscription

  • To unsubscribe ICS service, SMS “DEACT ICS” to 420
  • To unsubscribe to “Call & SMS Block” service via IVR, simply dial 420 and after selecting the language, opt for first option and then press 2

Charges:

  • SMS: PKR 1+tax/SMS
  • IVR: PKR 2+tax per minute
  • Subscription (postpaid customers): PKR 14.99+tax/month
  • Subscription (prepaid customers): PKR 0.5+tax/day

Call & SMS Block service is available for JAZZ and Indigo subscribers.

11. How many numbers can be added in one list?
20 numbers can be added in each list.

12. If the same MSISDN is added in both lists then will it be counted twice?

13. How can I delete a number via SMS?
To delete a number via SMS, simply send “del <03xxxxxxxxx>” to 420

14. How can I delete a number via IVR?
To delete a number via IVR, after selecting the language, follow the below given steps:

  1.  Press 2 to manage ICS service
  2.  Again press 2 to get in Number Management Menu
  3.  Then to delete number press 2 and follow the instructions.

15. Is it necessary to activate the blacklist for screening incoming calls that are in blacklist?
Yes, it is necessary else blacklist will not block the calls.

16. Is it necessary to activate the whitelist for allowing only whitelisted calls to get through your number?
Yes, it is necessary

17. What is Screening Mode management?
With screening mode you can switch between following modes as per your choice:

  • Allow ALL (by activating this mode all calls/SMS from all numbers will be allowed)
  • Reject All (by activating this mode all calls/SMS from all numbers will be rejected)
  • Activate Blacklist (by activating this mode calls/SMS from black listed numbers will be blocked)
  • Activate Whitelist (by activating this mode only white listed numbers will be able to make calls/SMS)

       This facilitates you and you donot need to add and delete the number every time in Black and Whitelist, instead lists are maintained and you only have to activate the desired mode.

18. What is Number management?
With number mode you can do the following:

  •  Add a number in blacklist
  •  Add a number in whitelist
  •  Delete a number in blacklist 
  •  Delete a number in blacklist
  •  Query a number and find out the status of the number if it is any of the lists or not

To query a number via IVR, after selecting the language, follow the below given steps:

  1. Press 2 to manage ICS service

  3. Then press 3 and follow the instructions

21. What is “Allow All”?
““Allow All” mode allows all the incoming calls/SMS irrespective of white/Black lists will be allowed

22. What is “Reject All”?
““Reject All” mode rejects all the incoming calls irrespective of white/Black lists will be rejected

23. SMS commands are case- sensitive?
No, SMS commands are not case-sensitive.
