 Fantasy Cricket
LeagueAs the Pakistan VS Sri Lanka cricket tournament is about to happen, Mobilink re-launches “Fantasy Cricket League” which will be a competition based IVR fun service allowing users to create their ‘dream teams’ by selecting any of the players from the database of 367 players and then manage them accordingly before or during a LIVE Cricket match.
This service is designed conceptually to run in parallel with a LIVE cricket match and uses a point-based system. The points will be awarded based on the performance of the selected players in the live cricket match. At the end of the tournament, the user with highest score will be declared as a winner. Service Features & Mechanics - Users can create a ‘Fantasy Cricket Team’ by dialing 8879
- Users can make a team of 14 players (11 players & 3 substitutes) choosing from the given choice of countries and players
- If users do not wish to create a custom team, this service will also enable them to create a system-generated team randomly made from a database of 367 cricket players
- Once the teams are made, their performance and scoring will start ONLY whenever a LIVE Cricket match is going on as this service is designed to function in parallel with LIVE cricket matches.
- Users have flexibility to replace any selected player with a new one before or after a live match, however they will have to pay penalty for this change, the penalty is deduction of points allocated to the player being replaced from overall score of the team.
- The ‘Fantasy Cricket Team’ players’ scores will be based on the point collection criteria which is further based on the actual players’ performance in the actual LIVE cricket match
- The users will also have an option to choose a ‘Fantasy Player’ from the team they have created. If their ‘Fantasy Player’ makes the most points during LIVE Cricket matches among all other players in all the other Fantasy Cricket teams, then extra bonus points will be awarded to the Users having that player in their ‘Fantasy Cricket Team’
- Users can dial in the IVR (8879) anytime during a LIVE match to find out their ‘Fantasy Cricket Team’ performance and score
- The final score, standings and result will only be made available on IVR once the actual LIVE cricket match is over
- Users can compete with each other by planning the players accordingly in their respective ‘Fantasy Cricket Teams’
Inviting Other Users - Users can also invite their friends to join Mobilink’s Fantasy Cricket league by selecting “My League” in the IVR menu where they will be asked to enter the MSISDN of the person they wish to send the invitation to
- The System will then send the invitation in form of SMS to the MSISDN entered by the user
Rules of the Game & Point Collection Criteria PLAYING THE GAME -
Users can Select 14 players for their fantasy cricket team. 11 Active players & 3 Substitutes, users can drop or add new players to their team anytime; however in order to add new player users will have to pay the price for that player. Price for any new player is the number of points for the existing player that is being dropped out of the team. Dropping a player from the team will deduct that player’s points from the user’s “total team score” -
There are no restrictions on choosing players from a certain country, but user’s choice will affect the team’s performance & points -
The teams will have at least 1 wicket keeper, 4 batsmen, 3 ballers, and one captain. The points for captain will be higher than other players -
User’s player’s scores and bowling figures are updated after every live cricket match into their very own fantasy cricket score card -
The fantasy cricket score card will use the playing 11 players that users have selected before any LIVE match & the decisions will have a huge impact on the overall team standing of their dream team -
The higher the players perform in LIVE match, the more points user’s team will get. The team with the highest score at the end of the tournament will win the Fantasy league
SUBSTITUTE PLAYERS -
Users can also use substitute players to replace any of the 11 players that did not play in the live cricket matches.
NOTE: Once the match starts, the team selection will be permanent. So if the user wishes to substitute a player in the starting 11 player lineup then they must confirm the substitution before the actual cricket match starts. -
The substitutes can be used before & after every LIVE match
BONUS POINTS -
Users can earn bonus points by inviting their friends to the fantasy league. For every invite, the inviting user’s team will get 3 points & for every successful invitation (If the invitee calls on the service) the inviting user’s team will get 5 points. -
Bonus points can also be earned if the user plays the competition & test their cricket knowledge. For every successful entry, the user’s team will earn 10 points. -
Extra 50 Bonus points will be awarded to the team whose Fantasy Player tops the chart of best Player on Mobilink’s Fantasy League at the end of the tournament.
POINTS COLLECTIONS CRITERIA -
Points are awarded based on how well the players perform in each of several statistical categories (see below). All LIVE match statistics have associated point values, and each player's points are summed to produce the user’s team's total score. -
There are no customizable scoring settings in Fantasy Cricket League
Batting 1 run = 1 point 50 runs = 20 BONUS points 100 runs = 30 BONUS points 1 Boundary = 2 BONUS points 1 Six = 4 BONUS points Duck = deduct 5 points Run Out = deduct 1 point
Bowling 1 Wicket = 25 points 1 Maiden over = 2 points Best Economy Rate = 10 BONUS points 1 Wide = Deduct 1 point 1 No Ball = Deduct 2 points 3 wickets (not necessarily in a row) = 20 BONUS Points 5 wickets (not necessarily in a row) = 30 BONUS points

At the end of the Cricket Tournament, Users of the Top 3 teams on Fantasy Cricket League will win the following cash prizes: Fantasy League Winner will get cash prize of Rs. 15,000 1st Runner Up will win cash prize of Rs. 10,000 2nd Runner Up will win cash prize of Rs. 5,000
