All those people who had to wait for days for transaction completion can finally avail instant money transfer via Mobile Money Order (MMO) service by Mobilink.

So now all one needs is a Mobilink connection and a Mobile Money Account to send and receive money orders conveniently and immediately.

Service Features

MMO allows you to perform the following basic functions

  1. Cash Deposit: Depositing money in Mobile account
  2. Cash Withdrawal : Taking out money from Mobile account
  3. Transfer Money: Sending money to someone
  4. Balance Check: Checking available amount in Mobile account

In order to be able to use this service you need to register first. However, you may receive money sent by other registered customers to you even without registering. To view details for each of these functions check FAQ section.

FAQ

How do I register for MMO?

Following is the Registration process:
  1. You will visit a Post Office and ask the Post Officer to register you for MMO. Post Officer will provide you with MMO Account opening Form
  2. You will complete the form and return to the Post Officer along with a copy of your valid Computerized National ID Card
  3. The Post Officer will process your request, and once complete, you will receive the following welcome message from 2725
  4. "Welcome to Mobilink MMO. You were registered by Post Officer Amjad.  Your MPIN is 9982.Please change this immediately for security reasons."
  5. To change MPIN, you will reply in the following format to 2725:
  6. "CHG <old mpin> <new mpin>"
    For example, CHG 9982 1234
  7. You will receive a confirmation SMS once your MPIN has been changed successfully.

You are now ready to deposit money in your MMO account and make transfers.
Note:
  • Name, CNIC number and Mobilink MSISDN are mandatory fields for registration.
  • Registration is mandatory for customers who want to deposit, withdraw or transfer money.
  • However, an un-registered customer can receive an MMO sent by a registered customer.

Do I have to register each time I want to perform a transaction?

No, you just have to register for the first time. Once you are registered, you can perform transactions like depositing, withdrawing and transferring money.

How do I deposit money in my MMO account?

To deposit money in your MMO account you will follow the process for Cash-In which is given below:
  1. You will visit a Post Office and request the MMO Post Officer for a Cash-In by filling the Deposit Form and providing your Mobilink number and the amount you wish to Cash-In
  2. The Post Officer will process your request, and once complete, you will receive an SMS notification from short-code 2727
"Your Cash-In of Rs 5,000 from Post Office Officer successful. Balance Rs 5,000"
You have successfully deposited money in your MMO account and are now ready to transfer.

How do I send money to someone?

To send an MMO to another Mobilink subscriber (registered or unregistered), you will use the "Transfer" command. Following is the process:
  1. You will type:
  2. "transfer <MPIN> <AMOUNT> <Target MSISDN>" and send it to 2726
    For example, to transfer PKR 50 to 03001234568, you will write
    "transfer 1234 50 03001234568" and send it to 2726
  3. You will receive a confirmation SMS stating that his transaction has been completed successfully.
  4. The recipient will also receive a notification that he has received a sum of Rs. 50 in his MMO account
  5. To send money to an unregistered subscriber, you will follow the same procedure by using the 'transfer' command. In this case you will receive the following SMS asking you to confirm whether you want to send the Mobile Money Order or not.

    "03001234568 is not registered for Mobilink MMO. Reply with YES <m-pin> 9245441 to continue sending Mobilink MMO. Reply NO <m-pin> 9245441 to cancel. 9245441"
  6. To confirm, reply to confirmation SMS in the following format

    "<YES> <MPIN> <Transaction ID>"

(Unique Transaction ID will be provided in every confirmation SMS. Customer may also reply with "<NO> <MPIN> <Transaction ID>" to reject the transfer). For example, to complete the transfer above, you will reply:
"YES 1234 9245441"

How do I withdraw money from my MMO account?

To Cash-Out (withdraw) money from your MMO account, you will follow the process given below:
  1. You will request the MMO Post Officer for a Cash-Out by filling the Withdrawal form and providing your Mobilink number and the amount you wish to Cash-Out
  2. The Post Officer will process your request, and once complete, you will receive a validation SMS from short-code 2727 informing you of the amount that is being cashed-out and requesting confirmation. The message will be as follows:
    "Post Officer Mobilink MMO wishes to withdraw Rs50 from your MMO Account. Reply YES <m-pin> 8587638 to proceed. Reply NO <m-pin> 8587638 to reject"
  3. To complete the Cash-Out, you will have to reply to the Cash-Out SMS within 5 minutes in the following format
    "<YES> <MPIN> <Transaction ID>"
    (Unique Transaction ID will be provided in every Cash-Out validation SMS. Customer may also reply with "<NO> <MPIN> <Transaction ID>" to reject the Cash-Out). For example to complete the Cash-Out above, you will reply:
    "YES 1234 8587638"
  4. Post Officer will receive a "transaction successfully completed" message on his portal, after which, he will pay the requested amount to you
Note:
In case the customer makes a mistake in entering the confirmation SMS, the system will wait for retries for a duration of 5 (five) minutes after which the transaction will be rolled-back.

Do I have to visit the same Post Office where I registered, to deposit/
withdraw money?

You can deposit/withdraw money from any Post Office offering MMO service. Only your name, Mobilink number and CNIC would be required to perform these operations regardless of your location.

Can an unregistered person withdraw the money received?

No. They will have to register for MMO before they can withdraw any money.

How can I check my MMO account balance?

The following process has to be followed to check MMO account balance:
  1. You will type an SMS in the following format
    "BALANCE <MPIN>" and send it to 2725
    For example, "BALANCE 1234" and sends it to 2725
  2. You will get your MMO account Balance in the form of an SMS reply

How do I change my password/MPIN?

The following process has to be followed if you want to change your MPIN:
  1. You will type an SMS in the following format
    "CHG <old MPIN> <new MPIN>"
    For example, "CHG 1234 5398" and sends it to 2725
  2. You will receive a confirmation SMS upon successful PIN change

Why do I need a MPIN?

Your MPIN is a unique 4-digit code that is known only to you. Like an ATM PIN code, your MMO MPIN (or Mobile PIN) will protect your MMO account against malicious use. You should always keep your MPIN completely private.

Can somebody use my MMO account if he has my PIN?

Your MMO Account is accessible only through your Mobilink number. So even if you have lost your PIN, your account cannot be used by any other Mobilink number. In case you have lost your PIN, please change it by using the PIN change command or contact our Customer Care department. You can also request for new MPIN by visiting nearest Post Office.

Which short code is used for balance check and MPIN change?

You will use 2725 for Balance Check and Change MPIN requests

Which short code is used to transfer money?

Customers will use 2726 for sending MMOs

Which short code is used for Cash-In and Cash-Out?

Customers will receive Cash-In and Cash-Out requests from 2727

What are the charges for using this service?

Following charges are applicable on the service:
